Lewisham’s residents, businesses, schools and community groups have celebrated another year of outstanding achievement in this year’s Lewisham in Bloom competition.
Judging for this year’s entries took place during the summer and the results were announced at a special ceremony in the Civic Suite on 13 October.
The judges looked at design, cultivation and the combination of colour, plants and foliage used, to decide the winners.
Councillor Susan Wise, who presided over the ceremony, said: “The people of Lewisham have displayed their green-fingered talents by turning their allotments, conservation areas, gardens and window boxes into stunning exhibits.
“The Lewisham in Bloom competition is an integral part of Lewisham’s environmental calendar, and without the commitment and enthusiasm of our residents as community groups, schools or as businesses, we wouldn’t be in such a strong position to impress the judges from the London in Bloom contest as we do every year.”
